The MetroTex Association of REALTORS® today released Garland homes sales figures for the month of May. MetroTex President Steve Habgood announced Garland’s record volume of sales.

“The market in Garland on is extremely active,” said Habgood. “While overall the number of available homes is low on any given day, homes that do appear on market tend to sell very quickly. There were 184 sold  and 180 pending sales in Garland last month.“

“We definitely recommend consumers develop a good relationship with their REALTOR® to help them navigate such an active market like Garland is experiencing,” said Habgood.

Other highlights include of the MetroTex report include:

• The average sales price in Garland is $170,488, a 19% increase over last year.
• Average sales price is 100% of list price when listed with a REALTOR®
• The number of available homes on the market in May 2015 was 164, compared to 276 in May 2014.
• The average price per square foot in Garland increased from $78 in May 2014 to $88 in May 2015. 

“We predict Garland will continue to be part of one of the most active markets in the country,” said Habgood. “In Garland, homes listed with REALTORS® are selling in 25 days on average.
