Watters Creek at Montgomery Farms is dedicated to making a difference in the local community. As part of its “Change for Charity,” the shopping center will partner with Minnie’s Food Pantry and CASA for the third and fourth quarter of 2015, respectively. The charity partners receive a percentage of the funds collected from the parking meters at Watters Creek. There are dozens of free, metered spaces available at Watters Creek. Feeding the meters is encouraged because those quarters add up and can make a big difference in the community if everyone contributes.

“We announced a call for charities earlier this year and the response we received was overwhelming. We are thrilled to be able to partner with Minnie’s Food Pantry in Q3 and CASA in Q4 of this year. Both make a huge and positive impact in our local community,” said Debra Martinez, marketing director for Watters Creek at Montgomery Farms. “Our Change for Charity program is just one way Watters Creek is giving back. We have many exciting events and programs this year in conjunction with local organizations. I want to encourage everyone to come out, learn more about the groups, and donate or volunteer.”

Minnie’s Food Pantry, Watters Creek’s Change for Charity partner for the third quarter (July, August, September) of 2015, is  a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization that provides food assistance to children and families in need in the community. As the largest food pantry in Plano, Minnie’s Food Pantry provides healthy food to nearly 4,000 people per month and is 100 percent donor-funded. All of its support comes from individuals, corporations, churches and organizations. All questions regarding Minnie’s Food Pantry or how donations will be used, should be directed to (972) 596-0253 or visit www.minniesfoodpantry.org

CASA of Collin County will be Watters Creek’s Change for Charity partner for the fourth quarter (October, November, December) of 2015. CASA of Collin County promotes and protects the best interests of children who have been abused or neglected by training volunteer advocates to improve the child’s quality of life and serves as their voice within the court system to ensure they are placed in a safe, permanent and loving home.
