Students and parents gathered at the Notre Dame School of Dallas to celebrate Catholic Schools Week, January 26 - 30.  Classroom doors were brightly decorated, student work prominently displayed, as the staff at Notre Dame School welcomed a steady stream of parents, grandparents and guests.

The week was sprinkled with various activities to engage family members, students and staff.  It began with a teacher appreciation luncheon, followed by pastries with parents, and culminating in Super Bowl Friday.  The halls were busy with visitors throughout the week.  The annual book fair benefitted from the traffic as well because every child loves a new book!

Another highlight of the week was the Open House for Prospective Parents.  Countless families walked through the halls of our school and witnessed the unique learning environment that makes Notre Dame School the hallmark of special education in Dallas.  “We love to showcase our school and welcome visitors any time.  It’s hard to explain the amazing environment here at Notre Dame School.  You just have to witness it,” says Theresa Francis, Principal of Notre Dame School.

Notre Dame School educates students with intellectual disabilities and facilitates their integration into society.  As the only school in Dallas exclusively serving this student population, Notre Dame is a unique educational resource in our city and provides special education to 150 students ages 8 to 21.  Notre Dame School is located in Uptown, just north of downtown Dallas.  www.notredameschool.org
