Junior League of Dallas (JLD) will hold its annual Milestones Luncheon, co-chaired by Heather McNamara and Elizabeth Gambrell, on April 14, 2023, at the Omni Dallas Hotel.  JLD’s Sustainer of the Year, Pam Busbee, will be recognized at the luncheon, where award-winning actor and New York Times bestselling author Rob Lowe will be the featured speaker. Dallas 24 Hour Club will host its annual Tea for Recovery Thursday, May 4, 2023, at The Dallas Woman’s Forum. Tea for Recovery benefits Residents of the Dallas 24 Hour Club, which provides transitional living, support services and essential life skills for homeless alcoholics and addicts, so they can embrace long-term sobriety and become contributing and self-supporting members of the community.  

This year’s Tea for Recovery chairs are Dr. M Joan Terry and her daughter Rev. Tiffany Wright, who were inspired to host the event after having a loved one complete the program within The 24 and are combining this passion with their love for tea to put on this event. Dr. M. Joan Terry has an impressive educational background including degrees and certifications from The University of the Netherlands and Texas A&M University. Additionally, Rev. Tiffany Wright received a BA in Mass Communication from Texas State University, as well as serving as Congressional Care Minister at Wilshire Baptist Church for 20 years. She now works with The 24.

Founded in 1969, Dallas 24 Hour Club provides transitional living, support services and essential life skills for homeless alcoholics and addicts, so they can embrace long-term sobriety and become contributing and self-supporting members of the community. The main facility on Ross Avenue offers a six-month program for men and women to help them embrace recovery, find employment, reconnect with family members, and learn to live independently. Tillman House, Dallas 24 Hour Club’s program for Successful Graduates, is a yearlong program that helps Residents transition into living independently. Throughout their stay, Residents can receive scholarships to further their education through Texas Tech University or Dallas College’s WorkReadyU program. More than 35 12-Step Meetings are hosted weekly at Dallas 24 Hour Club on Ross Avenue. The Junior League of Dallas will offer the Dallas community a chance to connect with various non-profit agencies the Junior League of Dallas supports at the annual Community Volunteer Fair Saturday, February 11, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at NorthPark Center.
