Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas will be celebrating 90 years of caring for Texans at the 35th Annual Dallas Awards on Tuesday, December 9th at AT&T Performing Arts Center Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House. Pamela and John Beckert are co-chairing the milestone celebration.

Barbara Bush will headline the event that annually unites the community in support of Planned Parenthood. Bush is now the NBA's Head of Social Responsibility where she leads the league’s social impact efforts. In 2011, Barbara was named one of Glamour magazine's Women of the Year. In 2013 she was recognized as one of Newsweek's Women of Impact, and in 2015 she was named to Fast Company's Most Creative People in Business list. In October 2017, Barbara released the number one NYTimes best seller Sisters First, a memoir she co-authored with her twin sister, Jenna. In November 2019, they released the children's version of Sisters First, also a number one NYTimes best seller followed by The Superpower Sisterhood in 2022.

Froswa’ Booker-Drew, Ph.D. is this year’s recipient of the distinguished Gertrude Shelburne Humanitarian Award. Booker-Drew is co-founder of HERitage Giving Circle, one of the first Black Women Giving Circles in the state of Texas, and co-founder of both Power in Action-Dallas and the South Dallas Employment Project, a collaborative of 140 organizations to address those impacted by incarceration. She is the recipient of several honors including the2025 Making Democracy Work awarded by the League of Women Voters, 2024 Black Women Give Back Award, and 2023 Texas Women’s Foundation Maura Women Helping Women Awards. She serves on the Board of Governors for the Antioch University System, Vice-Chair of the ACLU-Texas Board, and as Co-Chair of the Board of For Oak Cliff. Booker-Drew is the author of four books including the award-winning, Empowering Charity: A New Narrative of Philanthropy and most recently Front Porch Wisdom: Navigating Leadership Pressures and Barriers as a Woman of Color released this year.

The popular and inspiring morning event that starts at 10:30 a.m. and ends at noon promises entertainment, special guests, yummy breakfast nibbles and a signature libation. Afterwards, guests are encouraged to dine at one of the upscale restaurants that shares proceeds with Planned Parenthood that day.
