DFW Continues to Lead Country in Job Creation

DFW: Dallas continues to lead the country in adding jobs at a very good rate. And that statistic is not coming from a Texas state agency, but from New York City! The New York City Development Corporation recently reported that although Gotham has recovered nearly all its jobs lost during COVID, cities in the south are outpacing the city in more jobs gained than lost, and Dallas leads the way with a 9% increase. The area has added jobs that double the number of jobs created in other areas, including Atlanta, at 4.9%; Houston, 3.9%; and Miami, 3.9%. New York did fare better in jobs recovery compared to Detroit, Washington, D.C., Chicago and Boston. And New York City also did better in creating more jobs in finance, insurance and real
estate.

DFW: Commercial property giant (BRE's corporate headquarters will soon have its toes in Uptown and Downtown Dallas.
CBRE will take over space in a tower in the Park District near Klyde Warren Park at Woodall Rogers Freeway and Pearl Street.
The headquarters will take over 2 floors and about 67,000 square feet of space, some with great views of downtown Dallas. CBRE moved its corporate headquarters to Dallas from California in 2020. Trammell Crow, a wholly owned subsidiary of CBRE, developed the Park District, a mixed-use project that includes the office tower that will serve as CBRE's corporate headquarters, a residential tower and retail space. The development is owned by MetLife. CBRE hopes to move from its current space at McKinney and Olive before the end of the year. At one time, CBRE had plans to build a high-rise office tower at McKinney and
Maple and relocate its Dallas and corporate together but postponed the plans because of the pandemic.

DFW: Lights! Cameral Coffee? A new development in the Tarrant County city of Mansfield is aiming to create a 70-acre
mixed-use development anchored by a film studio and offices, but with hotels, restaurants, retail spaces and coffee shops. Developers will break ground this year on the $70 million Super Studios at South 7th Avenue and Easy Drive. Super Studios officials say they will be able to attract streaming services to produce major films. Developers chose the city because of its proximity to DFW International Airport and both Fort Worth and Dallas. The project is expected to create 2,000 jobs. Mansfield city leaders hope that the development will bring added dollars, much like the reported $600 million additional dollars that Fort Worth officials say have been injected into the Fort Worth economy since 2015 because of local filming for two related
television and streaming series: Yellowstone and 1883.

DFW: It's not Surf City, but a new restaurant and entertainment venue in The Colony will soon give new meaning to Surf and Turf. Fireside Turf is building a $4 million-plus restaurant and entertainment facility at the Grandscape and plans to open it later this summer. The pool will have customizable and endless deep-water waves, will offer lessons and have levels for both beginners and pros. The restaurant will include a full and varied menu of food and cocktails. Fireside Surf will join the multitude
of The Colony's Grandscape, which has big-name stores like FM and Scheels, plus numerous restaurants.

ROCKY MOUNTAIN PRIME: Primetime has found a primo spot in Colorado. NFL legend and former Dallas Cowboys All-Pro Deion Sanders recently bought a mansion in a gated community in Longmont, Colorado. His new home is about 15 miles northwest of the University of Colorado in Boulder where he is now the head football coach. The four-bedroom, 6,450-square-
foot mansion sits on more than 2 acres that are dotted with beautiful landscaping and dozens of apple, pear, cherry and fig trees. The home has exposed-beam ceilings, dark floors and a huge kitchen with top-end appliances. It has geothermal heating and cooling and walls of windows and numerous amenities, including a media room-great for watching game film. The primary suite has a bank of windows, a fireplace and a private terrace with views of Long's Peak. By the way, Primetime is still asking $1.5 million
for his estate in Canton, Mississippi, where he lived while serving as the head coach at nearby Jackson State University.
