The State Fair of Texas is still two weeks away but the excitement for the annual event is already building. People can already taste the corn dogs, hear the crowds and see the fun they'll be having. But, driving to and parking at the State Fair has always been a hassle. So skip the trouble and just take the DART.

The DART light rail has two stops at the fairgrounds: Fair Park Station and MLK Jr. Station. Both are only accessible through the Green Line, so anyone traveling on the Red and Blue lines will have to transfer. DART recommends that southbound Red/Blue passengers transfer at Pearl or St. Paul, while northbound Red/Blue passengers transfer at Akard Station.

Saturday, October 8, is the date of the Red River Rivalry, which will pit Texas against Oklahoma at the Cotton Bowl. DART has special connections planned for that date and some passengers may have to use buses to finish their trip. The kickoff for the game is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. but DART will start running at 7:00 a.m.
