In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the West Village in Uptown Dallas will be “pinked” out and a unique sculpture will be also unveiled on Saturday, September 17. The structure is a 14-foot high by 13-foot wide metal bra that was created by George Tobolowsky and Leslie Ezelle.

The larger-than-life bra is titled “Ann-e Girl” in honor of Leslie’s family member who lost her nine-year battle with breast cancer. The sculpture is made of metal straps and will be hung on a metal tree branch. The bra is modeled after the style in the 1950s.

When the structure is unveiled, the rest of the West Village will be “pinked” via paint, lights and other creative methods. Tobolowsky and Ezelle both hope to raise awareness for the Dallas County Affiliate of Susan G. Komen through this campaign.

Guests who attend the event will have their own opportunity to contribute and show their support for Breast Cancer Awareness. They can write a message of hope on a provided pink bra and together, everyone will toss the bras into a centrally located tree that will be completely pink by the end of the event.

There will on-site registration available for anyone who is interested in participating in the Komen Race For the Cure with Team Leslie. Anyone who registers on Saturday will be entered into a drawing for two tickets to see Taylor Swift in concert, courtesy of 99.5 The Wolf.
