Beware of DART's altered schedule on Labor Day

Labor Day is coming up next Monday, September 4, which means everyone gets an extra day to relax and unwind before the new work week starts up. However, traveling by DART will take some planning, as the public transportation service will be on a slightly different schedule than normal.

DART buses and the light rail trains will run on the Sunday schedule rather than the Monday schedule. Meanwhile, the Trinity Railway Express commuter rail will not be operational at all on Monday. However, DART paratransit services (for customers with disabilities) will be working on the Saturday schedule. The Paratransit Scheduling Center will be closed on Labor Day though, so book your trips ahead of time.

For drivers, the biggest difference is that several HOV lanes will be shut down on Monday. The HOV lanes that will be shut down are:

  • The HOV lane on I-30 East (R.L Thornton)
  • The HOV lane on I-30 West (Tom Landry Freeway)
  • The reversible S-ramp at the southern end of I-35 East (Stemmons)
  • The reversible HOV ramp between US 75 and I-635 HOV lanes
  • The section of the I-35 East/U.S. 67 HOV lanes from downtown Dallas to Loop 12

Plan your route accordingly!
