The scholar in all of us knows we should probably read a lot more than we currently do. The world may have moved into the era of computers, the Internet and technology but not even a Kindle or tablet can replace curling up in a sofa chair with your favorite book.

Fortunately, book groups are still alive in this day and age and The Dallas Institute has two that any serious book lover can join. The groups meet monthly and over the course of four months will discuss three recent novels and one classic chosen by the group.

The application fee to join a group is $160 and includes meals and books for four sessions. The early group - the Breakfast group - meets on the second Tuesday of each month while the later group - the Lunch group - meets on every third Wednesday.
