Young Friends of the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas Host “A Night with Reckless Kelly”

On a crisp spring night on March 26, the Young Friends of the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas hosted its popular spring party, “A Night with Reckless Kelly,” at Chicken Scratch/The Foundry in West Dallas with more than 300 in attendance. Co-chairs, Katie Crow, Lizzie Duplantis and Margretta Wikert, organized this western themed fundraiser with Reckless Kelly, a popular Austin country and western band.

The evening started with music by the Ray Johnson Band. Guests bid on silent auction items such as sports tickets, home décor, artwork, a large bear, jewelry and more. They noshed on fried chicken strips, French fries, tamales, fried mac n’cheese balls, chips and salsa. Dressed in their boots and best western flair, they listened and danced to Reckless Kelly play some of their most popular hits including “Good Luck and True Love,” “Wicked Twisted Road,” “Nobody’s Girl,” and “Seven Nights in Erie.”

Young Friends of RMHD is a group of young professionals dedicated to serving the Dallas community through the mission of the House. The spring event is the group’s largest fundraiser.

Jill Cumnock, CEO of Ronald McDonald House of Dallas, said, “Our Young Friends group knows how to throw a great party for a great cause, and we are thankful for Katie, Lizzie and Margretta’s leadership in organizing this important fundraiser for the House.”
