Get the highest tax deduction by donating your vehicle to Texans Can - Cars for Kids, benefitting Texans Can Academies!

Once Santa is finished delivering all of the presents and returns to the North Pole, it’s time to clean up before Uncle Sam makes his unwanted yearly appearance in our homes.  Are you ready to file taxes? Is there anything you can donate?  What about that old car sitting in the driveway leaking oil and providing fine lodgings for a family of squirrels? What about that perfectly fine working car that isn’t cool enough for your teenager? It’s as easy as one phone call to donate your vehicle to nonprofit organization, Texans Can - Cars for Kids benefitting Texans Can Academies.

Texans Can - Cars for Kids is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been in business since 1992. Unique among nonprofits, the organization offers a turnkey program for donating vehicles and offers free towing in most cases - running or not.  They also accept trucks, vans, motorcycles, RVs, campers, jet skis, forklifts, trailers and heavy equipment. Pick up the phone to speak with donation specialists that are available throughout the holidays, including New Year’s Eve. The donation process is quick and easy, pick up options are convenient for you, and the friendly staff will even assist you with all of the paperwork.

If the title is unavailable, Texans Can - Cars for Kids’ title department has staff to help donors obtain duplicate titles.  Donors receive the highest possible tax deduction for their cars when the vehicle goes to auction, which is also part of the organization’s service. The nonprofit runs their own auctions every Saturday and they are open to the public.

Donating an old vehicle is a win-win. The donor gets rid of an eyesore taking up space in the garage or is able to donate a perfectly great car that is no longer needed while also receiving a tax write-off. As a bonus, all donations support Texans Can Academies in helping educate and providing items such as food, housing, clothing, child care and other basic necessities for at-risk youth as they work toward their high school diploma.

With the public’s donations, more than 4,000 young Texans per year who are at risk of not graduating are receiving a high-quality education in classrooms with very low teacher/student ratios.  All donations benefit Texans Can Academies’ 14 tuition-free, open enrollment schools of choice.

“Texans Can - Cars for Kids values the support of each of our donors, no matter the size of their donation. The community will feel the effects of these donations years after our students graduate,” said Richard Marquez, CEO of Texans Can Academies.  “The proceeds from every donation directly benefit our students with their education or with basic necessities that aren’t available to them. We have changed thousands of lives, thanks to the generosity of our donors.”

The organization manages its own call center, its own title department and its own “open to the public” auto auction each Saturday, located at 7100 Marvin D. Love Freeway, Dallas, TX 75237. In addition, Texans Can - Cars for Kids recently opened a thrift store with a large variety of options to shop from, including holiday decorations, clothing, furniture, games and more. The store is open six days a week and proceeds benefit Texans Can Academies.

Donating a vehicle is turnkey, and it is that easy.  Donors may call 972-274-5437 or visit www.carsforkids.org. For more information about Texans Can Academies, visit www.texanscan.org
