The Trains at NorthPark 2020

In a year that has challenged all, The Trains at NorthPark will still bring joy by the carload starting November 14, 2020, hauling holiday hope forfamilies through January 3, 2021. Benefiting Ronald McDonald of Dallas (RMHD) and presented by Bank of Texas, The Trains is currently selling the keepsake personalized railcars that will run the 2020 season’s tracks. Helping conduct The Trains at NorthPark 2020 are Honorary Chair Sandy Phillips, a long-time RMHD volunteer, along with co-chairs Nicole Brewer and Natalie Lesikar.

The largest miniature train exhibit in Texas with 1,600-foot of tracks set against a charming and elaborate variety of holiday landscapes, The Trains will once again include over 700 railcars bearing the names of the companies, organizations, families, and individuals that make the attraction possible. Each year, hundreds of customized cars hit the tracks in support of the House, with available 2020 options including a variety of standard railcars for $200, a caboose for $250, a special edition Tangerine Orange Passenger Car for $300, and an engine for $350.

“The holidays seem an eternity away, but the prospect of the arrival of The Trains has given our families and staff a new cause for hope,” said Jill Cumnock, Chief Executive Officer of RMHD. “This is the highlight of our year and the keystone of our funding. For the past 32 years, The Trains has helped raise a significant portion of our funding – more than $13 million for the over 39,000 families of seriously ill children we serve.”

Precautions in place for COVID-19 will adhere to state and local government guidelines, including masks for staff, volunteers, and guests, except for those under three. Interaction will be limited for safety, will only allow one-way traffic and restricted capacities, and will have regular and rigorous cleaning. Those wanting to avoid peak holiday traffic are encouraged to come earlier in the season, especially during weekdays.

While supporters can buy railcars throughout The Trains at NorthPark season, the deadline to purchase in time to have a car on the tracks for opening is October 5. Tickets will only be available online for the 2020 event, which will remain at its 2019 location on the second floor near Nordstrom.
