Thanksgiving Square Bells The bells in Thanks-Giving Square will ring in memory of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims.

The three bells atop the modern tower at Thanks-Giving Square will ring 26 times to honor the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings on Friday, Dec. 21, at 8:30 a.m.

The bells in Thanks-Giving Square are replicas of the Liberty Bell and weigh a collective 5,000 pounds. Positioned in the heart of downtown Dallas, they chime on the hour and during special events.

The Friday memorial is a nationally organized event to heal the country in the wake of the brutal elementary school attack that claimed the lives of 20 children and six adults in Newtown, Conn. The Chapel of Thanksgiving will be open to the community for interfaith prayer and quiet reflection throughout the day.
