President Obama will be in the Big D Wednesday, Nov. 6 with an Affordable Care Act speech on his agenda.

It’s being reported by multiple media sources that the commander-in-chief intends to recognize volunteers with Dallas Area Interfaith, a group of individuals who have been working to enroll locals in the reformed health care marketplace the Obama administration introduced. Obama is expected to arrive at Temple Emanu-El, located at 8500 Hillcrest Ave. sometime Wednesday to thank volunteers for their efforts in distributing copies of a book highlighting the new health care law’s benefits and championing universal health care.

Since the rollout of healthcare.gov hasn’t exactly been smooth, Obama’s cabinet is traveling to certain places—Texas among them, because we have a high number of uninsured residents—to walk citizens through registering for the new service, Politico reported. In fact, Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins said “30 percent of Dallas County residents… don’t have insurance”—the biggest proportion in the country.

For the DMN’s Trailblazers blog, Todd Gillman offered this quotation from White House press secretary Jay Carney:

“Dallas is one of the 10 cities with the highest rates of uninsured residents that participate in the federal marketplace, and Dallas has one of the most active groups in the community working on enrollment and outreach efforts.  So the President looks forward to meeting with these folks who are playing such an important role in the outreach effort to make sure that Americans who are uninsured get the insurance that’s available to them.”

The president’s public schedule for Wednesday isn’t live on the White House’s website just yet, so it’s not clear exactly what time Air Force One will touch down. Still, I’d do my best to avoid Hillcrest as much as possible if you don’t want to be slowed down by a motorcade.

In Dallas Wednesday, the president will also stop by two Democratic fundraising events following his visit to Temple Emanu-El. First, according to the Dallas Morning News, Obama will go to a reception at attorney Peter Kraus’ Dallas home in support of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee before ending the night at a $32,000-per-head dinner at Russell Budd’s nearly $5 million Highland Park home.

Speaking of the Affordable Care Act, how has the process of registering been for you?
