The SPCA of Texas is excited to announce that the 16th Annual Strut Your Mutt, the Race to End Animal Cruelty, presented by Hill’s Pet Nutrition and VCA Animal Hospitals, will take place virtually the weekend of May 6-8, 2021. At this time, due to safety concerns with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the event is virtual, and minimal contact swag bag pick-ups will take place the weekend of the event at the Jan Rees-Jones Animal Care Center at 2400 Lone Star Drive in Dallas from noon to 2 p.m. The SPCA of Texas is inviting its supporters and friends to register, form teams and raise funds to end animal cruelty, as the SPCA of Texas needs the support of the community now more than ever during these challenging times. To get started right away, visit gostrut.org.

The goal of Strut Your Mutt is to raise awareness about animal cruelty in North Texas. The SPCA of Texas' Animal Cruelty Investigations Unit responds to thousands of calls to rescue abandoned or neglected animals, many resulting in criminal convictions in multiple North Texas counties. This critical work continues, even amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

To participate, register and form a team at their all new website, gostrut.org, and fundraise to help the SPCA of Texas. Registration for a virtual strutter with a sport t-shirt is $40, a virtual strutter with a t-shirt is $35 and a virtual strutter without a t-Shirt is $25. From now until February 5, use discount code READYSETSTRUT for $5 off registration. Additionally, runners can track their mileage with apps such as Run Keeper and Strava. Once a team is registered and given a memorable name, strutters can set up a fundraising goal, recruit team members and build team spirit through their team page.

Strutters can go the extra mile and recruit friends and family to show their support by making a donation in honor of them, their own four-legged friends and all of the animals rescued from animal cruelty. The SPCA of Texas needs the community’s support now more than ever during these challenging times, as their work to end animal cruelty is more important than ever.

Then, between now and May 8, strutters can walk or run from the safety their neighborhoods or their favorite paths, tracks or trails…with their best canine friends by their side, of course! All at their own pace.

All registrants can do even more help the SPCA of Texas raise funds for its critical work ending animal cruelty by participating in the individual and corporate fundraising challenges for cool prizes. Top fundraising challenge prizes will be awarded to participants who collect the most pledges. Donations may be made for Strut Your Mutt through May 31.

For even more fun, virtual participants can check out the Virtual Village, presented by ISN Software Corporation, at gostrut.org to check out special info and more from sponsors and virtual vendors!
