Mocky Horror Picture Show roasts REEFER MADNESS

If you've ever wanted to yell something at a really bad movie but you didn't want to get tasered by a movie theater usher, here's your chance. Mocky Horror Picture Show, a Dallas-based comedy troupe, will present a public mockery of the 1930s propaganda film-turned-1970s-cult-classic REEFER MADNESS.

The live, movie-riffing comedy show will be at 10 p.m. Sat., July 2, at Texas Theatre, 231 W. Jefferson Blvd. The troupe includes comedians Liz Barksdale of Irving, Danny Gallagher of Addison and Jono Rodriguez of Dallas making fun of the cannabis cult classic. Tickets are $12.50 and available at Prekindle | Checkout.

The show was written by Nicholas Harris of Lewisville, Barksdale and Gallagher. Audience members will be encouraged to make fun of REEFER MADNESS as it screens, and prompts will appear throughout the film to allow for viewers to yell or do something else to make fun of the picture.

REEFER MADNESS' plot is about innocent, suburban teenagers transformed into violent ghouls with a taste for sex and blood because of reefer. The movie, once a cautionary tale for parents, is considered by many to be one of the worst films ever made.
