Church of the Incarnation, located in Uptown, will be jamming on Thursday, November 3 when it plays host to a live community concert featuring singer Doug Burr & quintet band Air Review. The event is free to all who wish to attend but the church suggests a $5 donation.

Doug Burr has developed quite a following and this concert is partly in celebration for the release of his third release - “O Ye Devastator”. Burr’s songs have appeared in TV shows, and he has been the opening act for bands such as St. Vincent, Yann, Tiersen, Richard Buckner and Great Lake Swimmers.

NBC DFW said, “[Doug Burr is] Devastatingly Beautiful…It is deeply personal, yet the capacity to reach it’s listener at their individual need.”

Air Review is newer band; their debut performance was in May of 2009. They have been support acts for eclectic bands like Portugal, The Man, The Boxer Rebellion, One Eskimo and Blue October. Their five bandsmen are Dragan Jakovljevic (Percussion, Guitar, BGV’s), Douglas Hale (Vocals, Piano, Guitar), Richard Carpenter (Percussion, Keys, Guitar, BGV’s), Jeff Taylor (BGV’s, Bass) and Justin Robinson (Drums).

Music Ninja proclaimed, “America’s Son’ [Air Review] is the pop track of the summer…”

Come on out to the Church of the Incarnation for some fun, entertainment and to support a good community event.
