The Good Space 5th Annual Dash for the Beads 5K event awarded $22,500 to Oak Cliff schools and youth programs on Tuesday, May 13. This year’s Dash, held on March 1, 2014 at Kidd Springs Park in Oak Cliff, attracted 1,800 runners and 2,400 participants. Promise House was one out of four beneficiaries chosen to receive part of the funds raised by the race and festival. Dash board members presented the check in the amount of $2,500 to Promise House at its 224 W. Page Ave. location in Dallas.

Promise House: Moving Youth in Crisis toward Safety and Success

Promise House embraces homeless, runaway and at-risk youth by providing them with individualized support, skills, encouragement and hope to live a better life. Since 1984, Promise House has had an open door 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to youth and families in crisis serving nearly 70,000 children, teens and families in North Texas. Seven programs cover the vital needs of youth, including emergency shelter; transitional living; pregnant and parenting teen services; individual, group and family counseling; Street Outreach; and education intervention. Promise House is dedicated to providing the strength, stability and hope that youth need today to fulfill their promise for a healthy, productive and self-sufficient tomorrow. DASH FOR THE BEADS 

(www.dashforthebeads.org) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is giving its proceeds
to local area schools to help promote healthy eating and physical activity for our grade school children. Area schools
will be eligible to apply for $1,000.00 grants to encourage kids to stay in motion and learn about and practice behavior
that leads to a healthy lifestyle.

Dash for the Beads is honored to be a member of the American Association for Physical Development and Outdoor Play.
The DASH initiative was founded in 2009 by “Cliff Dwellers” Chad West and David Sassano as a way to raise money for
Oak Cliff organizations. Please review our Mission Statement. Monetary donations from those not able to participate are
