Trinity River Wind Festival Helps Community Take Flight

In the immortal words of Mary Poppins: "Let's go fly a kite!"

You can do just that on May 12 at the Reliant Trinity River Wind Festival. Starting at noon, head over to the Trinity River bottom near West Commerce Street and Riverfront Boulevard to celebrate the beauty and spirit of the wide open spaces along the Trinity River.

The festival has plenty of activities for families, such as kite flying, wildflower planting, wind-driven toys and crafts, face-painting, and a concert from the Dallas WInd Symphony.

Check out show kite teams from across the southwest, and take a gander at some hot-air balloons, too! As a bonus, the site offers great views of the new Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge, which recently opened to traffic.
