DALLAS (August 23, 2017) – The Landmark Restaurant at Warwick Melrose Dallas will host a complimentary wine-tasting with Texas’ own Becker Wines from 6 to 8 p.m. this Thursday, August 24. Executive Chef Patrick McElroy will present individually chosen local and international cheese pairings, and Chocolate Secrets will offer an assortment of chocolates to pair with the selection of reds, whites and award-winning vintages straight from the picturesque Becker vineyards in Stonewall, Texas. Those who stay after the tasting for dinner will also enjoy a complimentary appetizer or dessert, because there’s nothing to work up an appetite like a leisurely wine-tasting.

The wines and cheeses featured will include:

Icon Cab 2016, a red berry fruit with spices and notes of rich balanced tannins, paired with Bellwether Farms Carmody, a semi-hard Jersey Cow’s milk cheese, from the gorgonzola family with a sweet, buttery flavor.

Award Winning Provencal 2015, a dry rosé with delicate pear, floral and strawberry notes, paired with Cypress Grove Chevre Bermuda Triangle, pasteurized goat’s milk, vegetable ash mold rind, with a firm and slightly crumbly, tangy with a very peppery flavor.

Award Winning Estate Reserve Merlot 2012 with Beehive Cheese Apple Walnut Smoke, a pasteurized cow’s milk Irish Cheddar style cheese, cold smoked over red apples and walnut wood, then aged eight months with a smoky, and slightly nutty subtle sweetness.

Award Winning Viognier 2015, a delightful array of stone fruits with hints of vanilla and clove paired with Bellwether Farms San Andreas, a raw sheep’s milk pecorino styled cheese, aged three to four months, smooth and creamy with small eyes, and not too sharp or salty with a grassy finish.

Port 2012, a red raspberry and dark stone fruit with hints of herb and coffee paired with Beehive Cheese Promontory, an Irish style cheese with a full body, and a slight fruity and citrusy flavor.
