Capital One’s Getting Down to Business, which is a free 7 month training course that was developed to assist small Dallas businesses to grow and prosper, conducted a graduation ceremony on April 14, 2016 for the current class. The graduates included area business owners that feature financial services, yourfinancialnanny.com, Music School, www.7-notes.com and a Motion Design company, www.loredomotiondesign.com.

Capital One Bank, Getting Down to Business addresses the core needs of a small businesses. The program offers qualified business owners an opportunity to grow their businesses by increasing their knowledge about credit, budgeting, marketing, business plans, financing, accounting best practices, networking, insurance and much more. The program includes a matched savings component of up to $2,000 that the business owners can use for operations, staffing or purchase of supplies - -- upon completion of the program. In addition, participants are paired with knowledgeable professionals and volunteers who serve as mentors during the class sessions and for a year following the completion of program period.

 Getting Down to Business debuted in 2012, and the first three previous classes have yielded tremendous success stories such as a homemaker who has expanded her personal valet service; a personal trainer who now has two gym locations;  an inventor whose product is now on store shelves; an entrepreneur who won awards for her event planning company;   homemaker with a tasty chili recipe who caught the attention of a national supermarket chain; and several other business owners who credit their growth to Getting Down To Business.

 The program’s 13-course, in-depth curriculum was developed by Capital One bankers and local partners that include BCL of Texas;  Money Management International;  Lift Fund;  SCORE; Dallas Small Business Development Center and People Fund.
