It’s countdown to Razzle Dazzle Dallas 2012 and the Steering Committee is pleased to announce its 2012 beneficiaries and preliminary event schedule! This year’s beneficiaries are: Resource Center Dallas, AIDS Interfaith Network, Turtle Creek Chorale, Legacy Counseling Center, Legal Hospice of Texas, AIDS Arms, GLBT Leadership Education & Advocacy Program (LEAP), Uptown Players and the Cedar Springs Road Beautification Fund.
Razzle Dazzle Dallas is committed to helping community initiatives and organizations that are focused on efforts to better the LGBT community including, but not limited to, the battle against AIDS and HIV infection, community relations, beautification, education and wellness. Organizers have a goal of underwriting all event costs to return as much money as possible to local non-profit organizations. More than $60,500 was distributed in 2011.
The return of Razzle Dazzle last year was such a roaring success that organizers have vowed to make 2012 a HUGE encore including preliminary events beginning in April and building up to a blockbuster ‘80s-themed line-up of Razzle Dazzle Days activities from June 6-9, 2012. An events schedule featuring an April 14 WinStar Casino Trip, an April 19 A Rising Star Concert and an April 21 Gaybingo Night is listed after this release. Razzle Dazzle Dallas Days is once again scheduled to begin on the First Wednesday of June and will feature a Wine Walk and Sidewalk Sale on June 6; a Mr. & Miss Razzle Dazzle Pageant & Jägermeister Pub Crawl on June 7; the MetroBall on June 8; a day-time Antique Car Show/Street Fair, LifeWalk’s Waterpalooza and the night-time Main Event – Cedar Springs’ Street Festival on June 9. There are many, many ways for people to be involved in Razzle Dazzle 2012. Corporate sponsors, vendors, donors and volunteers are needed to insure that these fundraising events are successful. The Razzle Dazzle Dallas festival is produced by the Razzle Dazzle Dallas Steering Committee, a committee of the Cedar Springs Merchant Association, a 501c 6 organization. The committee includes representatives from the Cedar Springs Merchants Association, area nightclubs that are members of the Dallas Tavern Guild, Dallas Resource Center, Warwick Melrose Hotel, area AIDS organizations, individual volunteers and local businesses specializing in media, entertainment and logistics.
