New Year's Eve is a fun time to celebrate the past year, but remember not to go overboard, and do not have or set off fireworks in Dallas.

According to reports, the Dallas Police Department is on the prowl for people with fireworks, which are prohibited in the city limits.

Anyone who is found with fireworks by police will have them confiscated and could face a fine of up to $2,000.

Fireworks can be ignited outside of the city, but people are encouraged to be extremely cautious because of the ongoing drought conditions.
