Munch on a multiplicity of cuisines at the second annual Great Texas Food Truck Rally, which will take place on the lawn of Reunion Tower on September 19 from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.  With over 30 food trucks set to participate this year, whether you prefer Maine lobster from the Cousin’s Maine Lobster food truck, hot dogs at Eat Jo Dawgs or a menu from Gandolfo’s or Vegan Noms, that’s just a few of the many options the rally has to offer as you enjoy the downtown views while munching on your favorite foods.

With so many food trucks in the Dallas area these days and a variety of flavors and cuisines, Kimberly Westphall, Marketing and Event Director of Executives in Motion said, “We aimed at having a wide range of options for our rally attendees. From Cuban to Latin to ice cream, we have a taste for everyone.”

Overall, the Great Food Truck Rally is what Westphall describes as “a gathering of DFW’s favorite food trucks, in combination with live music and a beer garden sponsored by The Nodding Donkey as a fundraiser that benefits the nonprofit Executives In Action.”

Started in 2014 in an effort to raise funds and awareness for Executives In Action, Westphall said the rally is an excellent way “to bring everyone together for a fun, community-focused event.”

And community focused it is with all the money raised from the event benefiting Executives In Action (EIA), which is a nonprofit that provides high-level service grants to nonprofit organizations, by way of senior executive consultants in transition.

“Since our inception six years ago, we have worked with 700 executives in transition and nearly 400 nonprofits in the Metroplex,” Westphall said.  “Last year, our expectations were blown out of the water when we had 10,000 rally attendees for our inaugural year.”

Westphall added that they are on track this year to shatter attendance records from last year so far expecting 11,200 and growing.

“That number grows by the hundreds each day to the point where last year’s venue space at Reverchon Park was outgrown resulting in the new Reunion Tower lawn location,” Westphall said.

Aside from the amazing downtown views and delicious food truck cuisine, the lives music at the rally has also become a bedrock and this year five bands will take the stage including Cameron Ernst, Northern National, Ray Johnston Band, CJ Solar and the headliner James Otto.

Admission is $10 and that covers entry and the musical performances. Folks are able to purchase items from the food trucks and the beer garden directly and there will be ATMs on site as well as various vendors accepting credit cards. Westphall said folks are also encouraged to bring lawn chair and blankets.

A key signature fundraising event for Executive in Motion, expect another rally next year since Westphall said that the community seems to have embraced the idea of good food, good music and a location that can’t be beat.
