Easter is right around the corner and my niece is coming into town. I wanted to find some chocolates for her while she was in Dallas. I made my way to Chocolate Secrets on Oak Lawn Avenue to see their selection of chocolate desserts.

When you enter the store, you will see the enormous chocolate case in the center with an assortment of chocolates, nut clusters, truffles and a large room with café-type seating. Secrets also have an espresso bar with a selection of coffees from double chocolate cinnamon to hot chocolate. I was surprised with the wide arrangements of cakes and pastries they offer in their store with cakes to order for special occasions.

I was greeted by a friendly staff asking if I wanted to look at some of their gourmet chocolates, in scrumptious milk, white and dark chocolate. As I walked around the store, I realized not only did they have chocolates but, they also had a wine cellar, with a collection from around the world to pair with the chocolates. You could buy the wines by the bottle, but you could enjoy a glass of wine in the store with your favorite piece of chocolate and enjoy some smooth jazz music.  What a great way to spend the afternoon!

I browsed for a bit and then I bought some dark chocolate to enjoy with my husband after dinner. I also looked at the gourmet chocolate Easter bunny for my niece, but decided to come back in a week to buy the chocolate Easter bunny so I would be able to enjoy one of their pastries with a nice cup of hot chocolate.

Chocolate Secrets also has live jazz and events where you can try gourmet chocolates and desserts with fine wine. This is definitely a great place to go to for some dessert! To get more information on their events, you can go to http://www.chocolatesecrets.net.
