Civil Discourse Series: Capital Punishment in the U.S.

The Civil Discourse Series presents all sides of a thought-provoking topic through respectful discussion. For each event, the Museum will convene a panel of subject matter experts to represent their unique perspectives on an issue related to human and civil rights.

In this session, moderated by Dr. Sara Abosch-Jacobson, Museum Senior Director of Education, we will discuss the death penalty in the U.S.

Panelists:

Dr. Rick Halperin, Director, SMU Embrey Human Rights Program
Dudley Sharp, Independent Pro-Death Penalty Expert and Victims' Rights Advocate
Jim Willett, Director, Texas Prison Museum, Former Warden of Texas State Penitentiary at Huntsville ("Walls" Unit)
