Operation Kindness – North Texas’ original and largest no-kill animal shelter – will raise funds and awareness for homeless animals with renowned attorneys and authors Brian and Amanda Ellis Cuban, who will serve as honorary co-chairs at this year’s 26th Annual Canines, Cats & Cabernet to be held Nov. 17 at the Dallas Omni Hotel.

 

Brian Cuban is an attorney, author and mental health awareness and recovery advocate. He is the author of the best-selling book, The Addicted Lawyer, Tales of The Bar, Booze, Blow, and Redemption. He has spoken at conferences, non-profit events, colleges and universities across the United States and in Canada. He also writes extensively on these subjects. Brian’s columns have appeared on CNN.com, Foxnews.com, The Huffington Post, The New York Times, and in online and print newspapers around the world.

 

Amanda Cuban is a Senior Vice President with Special Counsel, the nation’s largest provider of legal staffing, e-discovery services, and managed solutions. 

 

She is also a social media enthusiast and a nationally known author and speaker in the area of social media and career development. Her first book, The 6Ps of the BIG 3™ for Job-Seeking JDs, was published in September 2010 and is the first book to teach lawyers and law students how to get hired using social networking sites. 

 

The Cubans are passionate about animals and eager to support Operation Kindness’ mission of providing care for homeless cats and dogs in a no-kill environment until each is adopted into responsible homes and to advocate humane values and behavior.

 

“Canines, Cats & Cabernet gets bigger and better every year, and we are honored to celebrate our 26th event with Brian and Amanda Cuban,” said Jim Hanophy, CEO of Operation Kindness. “We know that with their support we will be able to raise the funds needed to save many more thousands of homeless animals.”

 

The 26th Annual Canines, Cats & Cabernet benefiting Operation Kindness will be held Saturday, Nov. 17, from 7-11 p.m. at the Omni Hotel Downtown Dallas, located at 555 S. Lamar St. Guests will be treated to an elegant dinner featuring hors d'oeuvres, a mashed potato bar, carving stations, dessert bar and complimentary wine, beer and coffee while listening to music from the Emerald City Band. A Gala favorite, the Wine and Dine Pull is back featuring dining gift certificates from the best restaurants in Dallas-Fort Worth and rare vintages, in addition to more than 100 spectacular live and silent auction packages. For $50, guests in attendance and supporters who are unable to make the event can participate in the Grand Raffle. The winner will enjoy a two-night Omni Resort Getaway at their choice of one of Omni's 13 resort locations. To top it off, adorable cats and dogs will be seeking forever homes in the Adoption Lounge.

 

Advanced event tickets are $250 per person until 5 p.m. Nov. 11. A limited number of raffle tickets will be available for $50 each. Ticket costs are tax-deductible.
