The history of Hollywood/Santa Monica starts in the 1920’s with J.B. Salmon’s vision of a neighborhood predominantly with Tudor Cottages, Spanish Eclectic, French Eclectic, Minimal Traditional, Craftsman, Monterrey, and two rare examples of the Flat-Roofed Pueblo Revival style. The Hollywood Santa Monica Neighborhood Association selects five historic and/or unique homes to be showcased during the annual Home Tour.
The 29th Annual Home Tour will take place the weekend of September 30th and October 1st. Here are some of the fun and different (from prior years) aspects of the event so you can start planning how you want your weekend to Roll
:
1) For the first time ever, the home tour is in the fall (September 30th and October 1st).
2) The Friday night candlelight Wine Walk is back and the time is EXTENDED and will include a Silent Auction item at each home. On September 30th, the neighborhood will offer up a sneak peak of the homes taking place from 5:30-8:30 PM. We are adding two art studios to view the talent of a few of our neighborhood artists with an option to purchase. The studios will serve wine and dessert. In the five feature homes, will be offering some delicious spirits and snacks in a repeat event after 2019’s success at the Wine Walk and Candlelight Tour. Tickets also get you access to Saturday's Home Tour from 12PM to 5PM.
3) We are featuring the Tenison Pollinator Garden on Saturday from 1 pm to 5 pm. We are working with our Expanded Neighborhood Patrol Officers to assist attendees in crossing the very busy East Grand.
4) The Auction Party is on a SATURDAY NIGHT . It is also at the historic Lakewood Theater-turned-vintage-inspired-bowling alley, Bowlski's. It will include drinks, food, bowling, arcade games, a live band - Majestic Soul (Kyla King's Band), an array of awesome auction items, and VIP ticket upgrade opportunity to premium spirts - "Speakeasy" experience. The five homes on this year’s tour are among only 750 homes that make up the Hollywood Heights and Santa Monica neighborhoods, believed to be one of the largest collections of stone-embellished Tudor revival cottages in the country. These homes are made more special by the fact that their historic details are protected by one of the few Conservation Districts in the City of Dallas.
Home tour tickets can be bought online and HSMNA Members will receive a discount to each event. Please sign into the website to receive the discounted tickets.
