Susan Langdon and eight colleagues, formerly of Savant Group, have joined Stantec’s Transportation Group in the Gulf Region. With this addition to our growing roadway practice, Stantec now provides full transportation services to state, municipal, and private sector clients throughout Texas.

 

Susan Langdon, PE, PTOE – Principal

Langdon brings more than 25 years of experience in traffic signal design and operations, signal system timing and implementation, traffic engineering analysis, traffic system modeling and simulation, transit priority applications, and ITS applications. Her experience includes 10 years in the public sector where she served as Signal Operations Engineer for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and over fifteen years in private practice. She currently serves as Chair/Co-Chair for several Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) committees on a statewide and national level. She is also the current President for the Texas District of ITE and officer of the Transportation Research Board Signal Systems Committee. She was one of nine traffic signal timing experts on the project panel for the development of the Federal Highway Administration’s (FHWA) Signal Timing Manual Version II. 

 

Jennifer Butcher, PE, PTOE – Associate, Senior Project Manager

Butcher has more than 13 years of traffic engineering experience. This expertise includes the design of traffic signals, illumination and ITS; route planning; transportation modeling; traffic signal studies; roadway level of service analyses and traffic impact studies; site access and circulation studies; traffic signal timing; traffic control plans; and intersection layout design. She currently serves on the TxDOT Coordination Committee for the Fort Worth Branch of the American Council of Engineering Companies.

 

Rhett Dollins, PE, PTOE – Senior Project Manager 

Dollins’ 12-year career includes public and private sector positions focused on traffic engineering, ITS design and implementation, land development and civil project management. He has worked on numerous ITS deployments and communication network systems throughout Texas, including the LBJ Express (IH 635) design-build project.

 

Josh Smith, PE, PTOE – Project Manager 

Smith has 15 years of traffic engineering and transportation planning experience, with an emphasis on traffic studies, pedestrian and bicycle analysis, traffic signal design, transportation modeling, and traffic signal timing. Josh previously managed the Pennsylvania Avenue Cycle Track project between the White House and the U.S. Capitol in Washington, DC.

 

Transportation professionals Omar Venzor, PE, Brian Kellogg, EIT, Mark Kranz, EIT, Steve Carver, EIT, and Meron Shiferaw, EIT also join the group in Texas. “Our new colleagues in Texas will bring a combined 80+ years of transportation planning, ITS and traffic engineering experience and will broaden our ability to provide excellent service to our local communities,” says Fermin A. Diaz, PE, region leader for the Gulf.
