Nearly 200 volunteers joined Educational First Steps for its first-ever community-wide Day of Service, helping seven childcare centers enhance early learning environments for the children they serve.  The volunteer projects were part of the nonprofit organization’s work to help existing daycare centers meet national quality standards and set children on a path to success in school and life.

Volunteers from Frost Bank, Neiman Marcus, the Breakfast Club, CSW Apartment Homes, Compass Professional Health Services, Eastfield Communications Club and other community volunteers worked at seven childcare centers supported by Educational First Steps. This included Katie's Little Angels Learning Center in West Dallas.

In just six hours on one Saturday, volunteers built gardens, refurbished playgrounds, painted classrooms, installed landscaping, among a number of other renovations. And, thanks to the volunteers’ hard work, hundreds of children are now in more enriching, safe and fun learning environments.
