The normally busy spring market came roaring into March and bore no signs of slowing any time soon.

“The robust market in Addison is stronger than ever,” said Russell Berry, president of the MetroTex Association of Realtors.

“Sales prices were up nearly  20% over last year,” said Berry.

Highlights of the monthly market report released by MetroTex include:

• Houses are closing in an average of 31 days.
• There were 17 sales of single family homes in Addison.
• The average price per square foot for single family homes in the area was $162, a 14% increase.
• The average sales price in Addison in March was $315,060.
• There are 14 homes under contract and waiting to close.
• Most homes sell for 99% of list price when sold through a MetroTex Realtor.
• There is approximately a 1 month inventory in the area. Less than 3 months inventory is considered a strong seller’s market.
