The MetroTex Association of REALTORS® today released Denton County homes sales figures for the month of May. MetroTex President Steve Habgood announced Denton County’s record volume of sales.

“The market in Denton County on is extremely active,” said Habgood. “While overall the number of available homes is low on any given day, homes that do appear on market tend to sell very quickly. There were 475 sold and 412 pending  sales in Denton County last month.“

“We definitely recommend consumers develop a good relationship with their REALTOR® to help them navigate such an active market like Denton County is experiencing,” said Habgood.

Other highlights include of the MetroTex report include:

  • The average sales price in Denton County is $215,000, an increase of 14% over May 2014.
  • Average sales price is 98% of list price when listed with a REALTOR®
  • The number of available homes on the market in May 2015 was 635, compared to 792 in May 2014.
  • The average price per square foot in Denton County increased from $94 in May 2014 to $106 in May 2015. 

“We predict Denton County will continue to be part of one of the most active markets in the country,” said Habgood. “In Denton County, homes listed with REALTORS® are selling in 35 days on average.
