The MetroTex Association of REALTORS® today released City homes sales figures for the month of May. MetroTex President Steve Habgood announced McKinney's record volume of sales.

“The market in McKinney's is extremely active,” said Habgood. “While overall the number of available homes is low on any given day, homes that do appear on market tend to sell very quickly. There were 286 sold homes  and 235 pending sales in McKinney last month.“

“We definitely recommend consumers develop a good relationship with their REALTOR® to help them navigate such an active market like McKinney is experiencing,” said Habgood.

Other highlights include of the MetroTex report include:

• The average sales price in McKinney is $290,000, an increase of 14% of last year.
• Average sales price is 100% of list price when listed with a REALTOR®
• The number of available homes on the market in May 2015 was 303, compared to 384 in May 2014.
• The average price per square foot in McKinney increased from $103 in May 2014 to $116 in May 2015. 

“We predict McKinney will continue to be part of one of the most active markets in the country,” said Habgood. “In City, homes listed with REALTORS® are selling in 26 days on average.
