Theatre Brookhaven is presenting a free production of Not About Nightingales by Tennessee Williams on Friday, May 4 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, May 5 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, May 6 at 2:30 p.m. in the Black Box Theatre, Building C. The 1938 work is the first play Williams signed his name to and tells of a group of inmates who go on a hunger strike to better their situation.

Told in three acts with a great ensemble cast, the brutal work was inspired by true events at Holmesburg Prison in Philadelphia where several protesting inmates were tortured to death. Reservations are recommended given limited seating, and can be made by emailing derror@dcccd.edu.
