Hollywood’s hometown girl, Belinda Carlisle was the lead singer for the wildly popular band, the Go-Go’s, before beginning a solo music career in 1985. The Go-Go's became the first all-girl band to hit No. 1 on the charts by writing and playing their own songs. Throughout the early 1980s, the Go-Go's remained one of the most beloved bands in America, with hit songs like "We Got the Beat" and "Our Lips Are Sealed" dominating radio and MTV.  The discography of Belinda’s solo career includes seven studio albums, three compilation albums and thirty-one singles.  Her memoir, Lips Unsealed, was published in 2010 by Crown Archetype.

Belinda is married to James Mason, an award-winning film producer and former assistant to President Reagan, and they have a gay son.  Earlier this year she and her son, James Duke Mason, spoke publicly to a PFLAG group about her son’s coming out journey. Duke is an actor, writer, candidate for the West Hollywood City Council and the grandson of the late British actor James Mason.

Over the past decade, the MetroBall has raised more than $275,000 and assisted more than 1,500 people with HIV/AIDS. GDMAF’s community partners include AIDS Arms, AIDS Outreach Center Fort Worth, Resource Center, AIDS Interfaith Network, Health Services of North Texas Denton, Health Services of North Texas Plano, AIDS Services of Dallas, Amelia Court – Parkland Hospital and Arch Center - Children’s Medical Center Dallas.
