The Cathedral of Hope, a congregation of the United Church of Christ, is pleased to welcome Reverend Rachel Ciupek-Reed as their new pastor. Rev. Ciupek-Reed’s first Sunday in the pulpit will be on October 9. Be there to greet and welcome her to the neighborhood.

Rev. Ciupek-Reed, though originally born a Texan, joins Cathedral of Hope from Southern California where she served as Senior Pastor of Mt. Hollywood Congregational Church UCC.

“With great joy and celebration, we welcome Rachel Ciupek-Reed to our Cathedral of Hope family,” said Rev. Dr. Jo Hudson, senior pastor of Dallas-based Cathedral of Hope UCC. “Her joy, enthusiasm and deep love for all people will empower our congregation in the Mid-Cities in all areas of faith.”

She graduated with a Master of Divinity degree with an emphasis in Systematic Theology from the Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, CA in 2007; she hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology from National American University in Denver.

When she was 16 months old, her family moved from Dallas to the jungles of southern Mexico so her parents could truly learn about life as missionaries. Her family eventually moved to North Carolina, and her parents entered seminary. Her mother, father, step-father and grandmother are all ordained American Baptist ministers.

“Mostly, I have a deep desire to serve the community of the Mid-Cities Church with God-given grace and joy in the years to comes,” Ciupek-Reed said.
