Summer Block Party with an Asian twist

Got any plans for this Friday night? If not, why not try something exotic? The Trammell & Margaret Crow Collection of Asian Art is throwing a summer block party starting at 6:00 p.m. and there will be much to see and do.

You can watch a tradition Chinese dragon dance and then check out the second annual Cosplay Fashion Show, which is sure to have costumes and designs that will make you laugh and boggle your mind.

If that’s too much excitement for you, then try out some low-key karaoke or take your child to listen to some tradition Chinese children’s bedtime stories. And, of course, don’t forget to check out the museum itself.

The Crow Collection of Asian Art houses over 600 paintings from China, Japan, India and all over Southwest Asia. See jade ornament from China, perfectly preserved Japanese scrolls and a rarely seen 28 foot by 12 foot sandstone façade of an 18th century Indian residence.

There’s something for everyone at the Block Party! Don’t miss it.
