In conjunction with the fall temporary exhibit, “Neighborhoods We Called Home,” this event explores cultures of North Texas, featuring activities and crafts in the Section House, celebrating Mexican-American culture; the Shotgun House, celebrating African-American culture; the Blum House, celebrating Jewish culture; the Sullivan House, celebrating Irish-American culture.
Neighborhoods We Called Home is a new collaborative exhibit with the Dallas Jewish Historical Society, the Dallas Mexican American Historical League, and Remembering Black Dallas, Inc. which explores the historic neighborhoods of Dallas that served as strong, supportive communities for African American, Hispanic and Jewish Dallasites from the early 1900s and beyond. Materials from these three co-sponsoring organizations will be installed in three corresponding structures at Dallas Heritage Village.
