Non-profit Afghan Unity DFW, has worked with refugees from Afghanistan for 11 years to provide essential items, assistance with legal matters, settlement, and integration in the DFW community. With many Afghans seeking refuge outside of their homeland, it is estimated that 1,000 to 2,000 families are expected to settle in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex in the coming months. 

In anticipation of their arrival, Afghan Unity DFW will be hosting a donation drive at 905 Waterfall Way Richardson, TX 75080 on September 25 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The organization is specifically looking for the following donations to help settle refugees and make them feel more at home: 

• Vacuums 
• Bicycles
• Feminine Products & Toiletries
• Bedroom Furniture
• Mattresses
• Chairs
• Clothing and Shoes for Men, Women and Children 
• Diapers

The charity is also seeking monetary donations to help fill the gaps that federal and state refugee programs cannot accommodate. Monetary donations can be made via GoFundMe.

Due to the organization being volunteer-based, 100% of monetary donations will be going to the Afghan refugee community.
