AECOM Recruits Courtney Emich Spellicy to Grow Dallas Buildings + Places Practice

DALLAS – June 6, 2017 – AECOM, an integrated global infrastructure firm, today announced the addition of Courtney Emich Spellicy to the Buildings + Places (B+P) practice in Dallas. In her role within Client Services, Spellicy will help grow the firm’s design presence in multiple markets, including North Texas.

“Courtney’s unique background and skill set in various market sectors has prepared her for the diverse practice we have at AECOM and we are confident her leadership will help us grow client relationships and design opportunities throughout North Texas,” said Ted Kollaja, FAIA, vice president and managing principal of AECOM’s B+P practice for the Gulf/Southwest region. “Her ability to connect with clients in a meaningful way will continue to advance AECOM’s design presence in North Texas and the region.”

With 11 years of experience in architecture, engineering and construction, Spellicy has collaborated on various projects ranging from $3 million to $150 million, including corporate commercial, K-12 and higher education, mixed-use, civic, hospitality and retail.

In her new role, Spellicy will use her skills in strategic planning, project management, business development and preconstruction to concentrate on strategic client acquisitions in multiple markets.

Prior to joining AECOM, Spellicy helped oversee corporate strategic plans and developed an annual business and marketing strategy for Campos Engineering. For nine years, she advanced within The Beck Group, gaining skills in project coordination and leadership, while developing detailed estimates from conceptual design through contract documentation.

Before making the switch to the commercial real estate industry, Spellicy worked as a protective order advocate in the Family Violence Unit of the Dallas County District Attorney's Office. She also served as a legal advocate for New Beginning Center, a nonprofit serving victims of family violence.

Spellicy is heavily involved in several community organizations. For The Real Estate Council (TREC), she serves as a TREC foundation board member, PAC board member and serves on the Associate Leadership Council Alumni Association core committee. She also serves as a board member and committee member for governmental affairs and community engagement for Friends of Fair Park. For Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) she serves as the programs committee chair, and she received CREW’s 2016 Rising Star Award. Her other awards include the Lawrence A. Wilson award for her preconstruction achievements at The Beck Group and The UT Dallas Outstanding Alumnus Award.

Spellicy graduated with a 4.0 GPA from The University of Texas at Dallas with a Bachelor of Arts in Gender Studies in May 2004.
