DALLAS – May 9, 2017 – AECOM, a premiere, fully integrated global infrastructure service firm named Steven Janeway, AIA, NCARB, LEED BD+C, as regional design director in the Dallas office for the firm’s Buildings + Places (B+P) practice for the Gulf Southwest area. The region includes Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Utah. Janeway joins Ted Kollaja, FAIA, who joined the firm in 2016 as vice president, managing principal to lead the B+P practice for the Gulf Southwest region.

Janeway brings 30+ years of experience in design, and overseeing and directing teams to achieve high-performance building architecture while meeting clients’ expectations and resources. He collaborates and leads all design disciplines including architecture, interiors, planning, mechanical, electrical, fire protection and structural design to create an integrated, quality architectural result.
In his new role as regional design director, Janeway will set the agenda and drive innovation for the design teams throughout the region and work directly with key clients and projects. His focus on Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology as the chief enabler of project process, key component of construction simulation and data management is unique in the industry and seeks to change the way design and construction projects are delivered.
Prior to joining AECOM, Janeway led extensive international projects including the Samsung Global Engineering Center in Seoul, South Korea, he Desert Kingdom-Entertainment Resort in Dubai, UAE and the CoolPad Headquarters in Shenzhen, China. He also led many Texas-based projects, which include the Shell Oil-Woodcreek Campus, the Omni Fort Worth Convention Hotel, Veterinarian Technology, Science and Allied Health Building at Cedar Valley College and Urban Living Laboratory (ULL) Master Plan for the Texas A&M AgriLife campus. Janeway also was the leading designer of the master plan for Digital Dallas Data Campus for Digital Realty in Richardson, Texas.
Janeway is a member of the American Institute of Architects, Texas Society of Architects and USGBC North Texas. He attended Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design Professional Development Program from 2001-2002 and has a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Tennessee as well as an Associate of Architectural Technology from Walters State Community College. He is a registered architect in Iowa, Massachusetts, Oregon, Texas and Utah.
