DESCRIPTION:The Dallas Architecture Forum\, a non-profit organization dedic
 ated to providing public education about architecture\, design\, and the u
 rban environment\, continues its 2022-2023 Lecture Series on Wednesday\, M
 arch 8th at 7:00 pm. As The Forum celebrates its 25 th Anniversary\, the n
 on-profit is pleased to present architect Magui Peredo\, Founding Principa
 l of Estudio Macias Peredo . This Lecture will be held at the Angelika Fil
 m Center\, Mockingbird Station. Forum members may attend for free. Tickets
  for non-members will be available at the door - $5 for Students (with stu
 dent i.d.)\, $25 General Admission. Check-in and pre-Lecture Reception wil
 l begin at 6:15 pm in the Lobby of the Angelika. \n Magui Peredo and her p
 artners at Estudio Macias Peredo design and construct projects that are cl
 osely linked to local craft and original design in both buildings and inte
 riors.  Their work is aligned with the environment in a site-specific mann
 er\, and also incorporates local artisans in the building process. Among t
 heir outstanding projects are El Eco Pavilion\, Torre Avancer\, Casa Tejad
 a\, Edificio Turin\, Casa Guzman Jimenez\, Complejo Industrial\, Casa Amer
 icana\, and Punta Caliza Hotel Holbox.  In addition to their professional
  practice\, Ms. Peredo and her husband/partner Salvador Macias coordinate
  the Jardín 17 architecture exhibition space at Casa Estudio Luis Barragán
  in Mexico City. Ms. Peredo has exhibited her work at the National Palace
  of Fine Arts in Mexico City\, at the Illinois Institute of Technology (II
 T) College of Architecture\, at SFA MOMA\, and at the Mexico pavilion of t
 he 2020 Venice Architecture Biennale.  \nEstudio Macias Peredo presents le
 ctures and forums on their practice in universities in Mexico and abroad.
  The studio has won several awards\, including the Emerging Voices prize b
 y The Architectural League in New York\; and was a finalist in the Mies Cr
 own Hall Americas Prize Competition.  Magui is also a project workshop pro
 fessor at ITESO in Guadalajara and a member of Mexico’s National Academy o
