DESCRIPTION:The Dallas Architecture Forum\, a non-profit organization dedic
 ated to providing public education about architecture\, design\, public sp
 ace and the urban environment\, continues its 2024-2025 Lecture Series on
  Thursday\, November 14\, 2024\, at 7:00 pm. The Forum is pleased to prese
 nt award-winning architect and educator Ed Baum . This Lecture will be hel
 d at the Angelika Film Center at Mockingbird Station. Forum members may at
 tend for free. Tickets for non-members will be available at the door - $5
  for Students (with student i.d.)\, $25 General Admission. Check-in and pr
 e-Lecture Reception will begin at 6:15 pm in the lobby of the Angelika. \n
  Edward M. Baum FAIA has achieved distinction in parallel professional and
  academic careers. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Harvar
 d with highest honors. Baum began his career in the office of José Luis Se
 rt and continued that studio’s guiding principles in his own practice. At
  the national level\, Baum’s work has received awards from Progressive Arc
 hitecture\, American Architecture \, Wood Design and Residential Architect
  \, as well as state and local design awards. Two significant built projec
 ts include the Dallas Police Memorial and Prototype Infill Housing in Dall
 as. The latter\, a series of courtyard houses\, was featured in Dwell \, O
 ttagono \, Arquitectura Viva \, Wood Design \, and Residential Architect .
  He has also been published in Architectural Record \, Baumeister \, Progr
 essive Architecture\, and Texas Architect. Baum’s socially responsive ‘Pro
 totype Housing for Modest Means’ and ‘Solar/Max Housing’ have both receive
 d prestigious American Architecture Awards. A series of compact\, affordab
 le houses are planned to begin construction soon in Dallas. \nBaum taught
  at the Harvard GSD for a decade\, followed by nine years at Washington Un
 iversity in Saint Louis. Baum was at UTA’s School of Architecture until 20
 13\, where he served as Dean from 1987 until 1999\, helping to bring its a
 rchitecture program to national recognition in design. Recently Baum has b
 een a visiting professor at the Universidad de Navarra in Spain. \n In 199
 7 Baum co-founded The Dallas Architecture Forum. He served as Chair of The
  Forum’s Lecture Programming Series for over a decade\, bringing the Serie
 s to national prominence. Largely because of Baum’s illustrious vision\, t
 he Forum received the American Institute of Architects’ 2011 Collaborative
