DESCRIPTION:The Dallas Architecture Forum\, a non-profit organization dedic
 ated to providing public education about architecture\, design\, public sp
 ace and the urban environment\, continues its 2023-2024 Lecture Series on
  Wednesday\, April 3\, 2024 at 7:00 pm. The Forum is pleased to present Mi
 kyoung KIM\, FASLA\, Founder and Design Director of award-winning Mikyoung
  Kim Design . This Lecture will be held at the Angelika Film Center at Moc
 kingbird Station. Forum members may attend for free. Tickets for non-membe
 rs will be available at the door - $5 for Students (with student i.d.)\, $
 25 General Admission. Check-in and pre-Lecture Reception will begin at 6:1
 5 pm in the lobby of the Angelika. \nMikyoung Kim Design (MYK-D) is intern
 ationally recognized for the studio’s culturally significant designs that
  celebrate the beauty of collective human experience. Through landscape an
 d urban design\, the firm also addresses some of the most pressing environ
 mental and health-related issues that face us today. The studio has been h
 onored as the American Society of Landscape Architect’s Firm of the Year\,
  and founder Mikyoung Kim\, FASLA has received the ASLA’s National Design
  Medal and The Cooper Hewitt National Design Award for Landscape Architect
 ure. MYK-D has also been named as one of Fast Company’s “World’s Most Inno
 vative Companies” and as an AD Innovator by Architectural Digest. The stud
 io has received over fifty design awards\, including numerous ASLA and AIA
  National Honor Awards for Design. \nMikyoung’s work incorporates resilien
 cy and healthy living as integral components of the studio’s projects. Her
  diverse background in design\, music and sculpture has shaped her body of
  work\, blurring the boundaries between landscape\, ecology and architectu
 re. Trained as a concert pianist at Oberlin\, she also studied Landscape A
 rchitecture at the Harvard GSD and public art at MIT. While at Harvard\, s
 he was an Olmsted Scholar and received the Norman T. Newton Prize and the
  Jacob Weidenman Prize. She has taught at the Harvard GSD and is a Profess
 or Emerita at RISD\, where she was awarded the college's Dean's Leadership
  Award. A frequent international speaker\, she has lectured at Yale and St
 anford\, and served on prestigious juries including the Rome Prize. \nFor
  over two decades MYK-D has focused on human centered design\, striving to
  make cities healthier and more inclusive. From large-scale urban waterfro
 nts and workplaces to public gardens and healthcare centers\, the studio i
 s interested in bringing restoration and wonder that captures the public i
 magination. The studio has done projects in the US\, East Asia and the Mid
 dle East\, including the Seoul Cheonggye River Restoration project\, Scien
 ce Hill Wellesley Campus\, and Ford’s Michigan Central Park. Recent built
  work includes Chicago’s Crown Sky Garden\, the Bal Harbour Jetty Park\, a
