 ated to providing public education about architecture\, design\, public sp
 ace and the urban environment\, continues its 2023-2024 Lecture Series on
  Wednesday\, April 24\, 2024\, at 7:00 pm. The Forum is pleased to present
  architect Carol Ross Barney as the speaker for this Season’s Bob James Me
 morial Lecture . This Lecture will be held in the Horchow Auditorium of th
 e Dallas Museum of Art. Forum members may attend for free. Tickets for non
 -members will be available at the door - $5 for Students (with student i.d
 .)\, $25 General Admission. Check-in and pre-Lecture Reception will begin
  at 6:15 pm in the Hamon Atrium of the DMA. \n Carol Ross Barney\, FAIA\,
  HASLA \, the 2023 American Institute of Architects Gold Medal recipient\,
  is an architect\, urbanist\, mentor\, and educator\, and has relentlessly
  advocated that excellent design is a right\, not a privilege. Dedicated t
 o design of public spaces\, her exploration into the power of how the buil
 t environment can improve our daily lives has produced distinctive structu
 res that have become cultural icons. Notable projects include the design o
 f the new Oklahoma City Federal Building replacing the bombed Murrah Feder
 al Building\; McDonald’s Chicago and Disney World Flagship Restaurants\; S
 earle Visitor Center at the Lincoln Park Zoo\; JRC Synagogue\; CTA Cermak
  and Morgan Street Stations\; UMD Civil Engineering Building\; Multi-Modal
  Terminal at O’Hare\; NASA Aerospace Communications Facility\; and Chicago

 . \nCarol is a graduate of the University of Illinois and has taught an ad
 vanced Design Studio at the Illinois Institute of Technology for over thir
 ty years\, sharing her expertise and shaping the next generation of archit
 ects. Carol's exceptional work has garnered over 200 major design awards\,
  including the prestigious Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum Nationa
 l Design Award. She has also received fourteen National American Institute
  of Architects Honor Awards for Architecture\, Interior Architecture\, and
  Urban Planning and Design\, as well as over 45 AIA Chicago Awards. Her co
 mmitment to sustainable design has been recognized with two AIA Committee
  on the Environment Top Ten Project Awards. Her studio’s work has been wid
