 ated to providing public education about architecture\, design\, and the u
 rban environment\, completes its popular 2021-2022 Lecture Series on Tuesd
 ay\, June 7\, 2022\, at 7:00 pm. Architect Wendell Burnette\, FAIA\, will
  be our featured speaker\, presenting The Forum’s Fifth Annual Frank Welch
  Memorial Lecture to honor the late Frank Welch\, the Dean of Texas Modern
 ist architects\, leading Dallas practitioner\, and great friend of The For
 um.  This Lecture will be presented in the Horchow Auditorium of the Dalla
 s Museum of Art. Forum members may attend for free. Tickets for non-member
 s will be available at the door. Check-in and pre-Lecture Reception will b
 egin at 6:15 pm in the Hamon Atrium of the DMA. \nWendell Burnette\, FAIA\
 , is an award-winning architect whose projects reflect many of the same ke
 y values as the late Frank Welch: space and light\, context and place\, or
 ganic materials that are carefully crafted\, and respect for the environme
 nt and landscapes in which we live. Burnette studied at the Frank Lloyd Wr
 ight School of Architecture at Taliesin West and is a Professor of Practic
 e at The Design School at Arizona State University. Burnette has traveled
  widely in Asia\, Europe\, Africa and the Americas with a focus on the sou
 thwestern states to develop unique understandings of the importance of des
 ign in harmony with its site. \nBurnette’s work has been featured in over
  150 publications worldwide\, and has received many prestigious awards\, i
 ncluding a P/A Design award from  Architecture\, three “Record House” awar
 ds from  Architectural Record \, and a National AIA Honor Award. Projects
  include custom residences in Arizona and around the country\, public comm
 issions that include the Palo Verde Library/Maryvale Community Center\, th
 e Children’s Museum of Phoenix\, and the Scottsdale Teen Center\, and reso
 rts/spas worldwide including the much-acclaimed Amangiri Resort. Burnette
  also collaborated with Will Bruder on the Phoenix Central Library design.
  Wendell’s work has been exhibited at the Cooper Hewitt National Design Mu
 seum and he is a laureate of the American Academy of Arts and Letters. \nS
