DESCRIPTION:Sammons Jazz kicks off its spring season with the extraordinary
  Don Ambrose Quartet in an exciting first set of swinging jazz. Led by pia
 nist Don Ambrose \, the A-list group includes Chris Clarke on bass\, Andre
 w Griffith on drums and Chris McGuire on sax and clarinet. Music Director
  and pianist Erskine Hawkins III takes a detour from the touring road to e
 ntertain Sammons Jazz fans with his “from all directions” sound. He is joi
 ned by bassist Nigel Rivers\, drummer Brian Harmon\, saxophonist Michael B
 rooks and vocalist Trenton Hull. \n  \nSammons Jazz is held at the Sammons
  Center for the Arts\, 3630 Harry Hines at Oak Lawn. Tickets are $50 per p
 erson and include beverages\, light refreshments\, and valet parking. Door
 s open at 7 p.m.\; the concert begins approximately at 7:30 p.m. There are
  two performance sets with an intermission between. Dress is casual. Seati
 ng is limited to maintain safe distancing and masks are required of all pa
